NTU Social Science Challenge 2025 Launches with Energy and Insight

The NTU Social Science Challenge 2025 officially kicked off on Saturday, 31 May, with an inspiring gathering of students from junior colleges, IB schools, and other pre-university institutions across Singapore. With a dynamic start, the Challenge saw a strong turnout of passionate youth eager to engage with some of today’s most urgent social issues, including youth violence, cyberbullying, racial discrimination, and public policy.

This year’s Challenge is more than just a competition. It is a platform that empowers students to explore real-world challenges through an interdisciplinary social science lens, encouraging them to think critically and propose innovative, research-based solutions that matter.

We are proud to have the support of key national partners, including the Ministry of Digital Development and Information (MDDI), OnePeople.sg, and the Strategy Group at the Prime Minister’s Office. Their involvement underscores the importance of engaging young people in conversations around social cohesion, digital responsibility, and inclusive policymaking.

The launch event featured thought-provoking sessions by NTU’s School of Social Sciences (SSS) faculty members and distinguished guest speakers. These sessions sparked lively discussions and set the tone for a meaningful journey of inquiry and discovery in the weeks ahead.

As the Challenge unfolds, we look forward to seeing how our young participants continue to refine their ideas and work collaboratively to make sense of….and shape…the world around them.

Stay tuned for more updates as we follow their progress!
